Maureen Ax MNZM, ARAD (Adv & TCE), MIDTA, MNZADTA, MNZAMD, Registered Teacher Royal Academy of Dance, Life Member of the Royal Academy of Dance

Maureen has been teaching dance in Palmerston North since 1962. Maureen worked as an apprentice teacher for Miss Gwen Gibbs. In 1964 Maureen opened a school under her own name. Maureen is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance and holds their teacher's certificate. Maureen has passed the ISTD National Branch Advanced examination with Honours. She has spent time studying overseas and in 1999 studied at the Royal Academy of Dance in London.

Maureen has choreographed for local theatre groups as well as for television.

Maureen has adjudicated at festivals throughout New Zealand and is a former Vice-President of the New Zealand Performing Arts Competitions Society (PACANZ) and a Life Member of the Manawatu Performing Arts Competitions Society.

Students are trained for Royal Academy of Dance Graded and Vocational examinations and IDTA medal tests and NZAMD Tap and Modern Jazz exams. Maureen is a member of the New Zealand Assocation of Dance Teachers.
